La corte dice no a CSIS non wiretaps oltremare

In un giudizio reso a pubblico venerdì tardo, un giudice della corte federale ha negato una richiesta dall'agenzia della spia del Canada alle intercettazioni elettroniche di comportamento su 10 sospetti fuori di Canada.The che il servizio di intelligenza canadese di sicurezza (CSIS) è stato consentito per studiare i sospetti - nove di chi sono cittadini canadesi, residenti permanente o rifugiati - parte interna Canada ma la sentenza della Corte federale ha negato la relativa richiesta di perseguire i sospetti con sorveglianza elettronica quando hanno lasciato i puntelli canadesi.
“Trovo che la corte è senza la giurisdizione per pubblicare la garanzia cercata. Accordingly, the application will be dismissed,” Justice Edmond Blanchard wrote in the judgment.
The ruling stated that the Federal Court was not able to authorize the warrants sought for investigative activities to be conducted by agents for CSIS in a country other than Canada.
“I am not persuaded that in the national security context, the practice of intelligence gathering operations in foreign states is recognized as a customary practice in international law,” wrote Justice Blanchard.
CSIS will reportedly not appeal the decision.
