House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Friday in her weekly press briefing that she believes that Judge Brett Kavanaugh was “doing an imitation of President Trump” in his testimony Thursday in the Senate Judiciary Committee on his alleged 36-year-old assault on Christine Blasey Ford.
Trump himself, Pelosi said, is trying to destroy the “Me Too” movement.
“There are women out there, including my own daughter,” Pelosi said, “who think that what the president is trying to do is to break the Me Too movement, to just say, ‘We don’t care what you have to say. We don’t want to know anything further. And so if you think you’re going to come forward, understand the odds that you’re up against’–because it takes great courage to come forward.”
