Martin Bell è un ex corrispondente di guerra della televisione e politico. Qui sta parlando all'università de Lancaster il 18 ottobre 2007.

Ha affidato il BBC nell'aprile 1997 al basamento come independent contro il mp di seduta per Tatton, il Tory Neil Hamilton. Ha vinto con una maggioranza di 11.000 voti, per trasformarsi in nel mp indipendente in primo luogo scelto dal 1951.

È stato nominato ambasciatore del Unicef per le emergenze umanitarie in 2001. His assignments for Unicef have included Burundi, Kosovo, Tajikistan, Iraq, Malawi, Bosnia, Sudan and Sri Lanka.
