Also on the show: It’s been a year since the murder of Berta Cáceres. Court documents leaked to the Guardian support the idea that the killing of the Honduran environmental, indigenous rights and feminist activist was planned by military intelligence specialists linked to Honduras’ US-trained special forces. Such “extrajudicial” killings in Honduras have spiked since the 2009 coup, in which the US played a key role—though that role is beyond obscured in press coverage that presents the US as the solution to violence in that country.
