Footage shows pitiful scene of kids disrespecting and assaulting their own mother

A viral video which shows a young boy getting in a fight with his own mother at a grocery store is being highlighted as a shocking example of how children are becoming completely unruly with no respect for their parents.
The 5 minute clip, entitled Kids running wild in a store, is filmed at a grocery store in New York. It shows a young boy picking and eating grapes that he hasn’t paid for while his mother shops obliviously.
“Look, she ain’t got no control over her kids,” remarks the man as he asks the boy what he is doing before telling his mother about his behavior.
The mother confronts her son and yells at him to stop eating the grapes, to which he responds, “Watch your mouth!”
A pitiful scene then ensues as the mother grabs her son, only to have her wig swiped by the boy before his sister holds back her own mother.
Another man then steps in to wrestle the mother to the ground as she screams, “I’m so sick of these damn kids.”
Despite their mother being dragged away in an obvious state of hysteria, her children continue to playfully taunt her, before the boy runs back in and gives her another shove.
The scene ends with the mother chasing after her daughter and then being thrown out of the store as her kids laugh. The man recording the video tells the other shoppers, who appeared to be siding with the kids, that they were acting out and deserved to be disciplined by the mother.
People reacting to the video expressed shock at the unruly nature of the children and the complete lack of respect shown for their mother.
Is this just a one off incident or does it point to a wider trend of children becoming more uncontrollable as standards of parenting slip while popular culture in general disparages the family unit?
