American activist Joe Iosbaker says the deadly wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the proxy war in Syria show US imperialism is a danger to the world.
Å“US imperialism is a danger to the people of the world. There unjust wars in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and the proxy war in Syria for example have claimed the lives of well over a million in the past twelve years,” Iosbaker told Press TV on Thursday.
Å“Bagram and Guantanamo those are torture chambers and there is no justice. Those torture chambers are there to break the spirit of the people who are resisting the US wars and occupation,” he added.
About the Afghan governmentâ„¢s decision to release some prisoners from Bagram prison, the analyst said the story is like the release of detainees from the Guantanamo prison.
Å“The Afghan government is releasing prisoners from Bagram because there is no evidence against them. The US government is trying to stop this from happening,” Iosbaker said.
Å“The US has had a long-year effort to stop the Afghan government from having courts look at the cases against the prisoners precisely because there is so little evidence,” he added.
Afghanistan plans to release some prisoners from Bagram, saying there is not enough evidence to keep them detained.
However, the United States says the prisoners are a threat to security.
