Alaska plane crash kills 4 people

The plane crashed near Saint Mary�™s, which is about 470 miles west of Anchorage and off the state�™s road system.

An airplane crashed in the US state of Alaska on Friday night killing four people onboard, including an infant, The Associated Press reported.

The head of the National Transportation Safety Board in Alaska said searchers from a village reached the site of the incident two hours after the plane went down but the found pilot Terry Hansen and three passengers, Rose Polty, Richard Polty and infant Wyatt Coffee dead.

Six other passengers were sent to the hospital. The survivors included Melanie Coffee, Pauline Johnson, Kylan Johnson, Tonya Lawrence, Garrett Moses and Shannon Lawrence.

The plane crashed near Saint Mary�™s, which is about 470 miles west of Anchorage and off the state�™s road system. Saint Mary�™s has a population of about 500.

Alaska State Troopers, and the US Coast Guard, LifeMed Alaska and the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center were all sent to the scene for a rescue effort, State Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said.

At midnight Friday, the temperature at Saint Mary’s was 10 degrees, according to the Daily News.
