US 'hell-bent' on removing Assad from Syria: Analyst

The US is warning of a possible chemical attack in Iraq by the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group as a way to justify Washington’s sustained military intervention in the Middle East and oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, says a political analyst in California.

“When the United States is warning that the ISIL terrorists may be using a chemical weapon very soon in the future and is trying to put that idea in people’s heads, that is telling me that they intend to use that at some point in order to justify maintaining their foothold [in Iraq],” said Scott Bennett, a former US Army psychological warfare officer.

“This is simply designed as cover for another covert weapon in the US weapon system,” Bennett told Press TV on Wednesday.

“This is absolutely a sign that the United States is not on the side of Iraq, not on the side of Mosul people, but really on the side of itself and it is hell-bent on removing Assad,” Bennett said.
