The defence secretary, Des Browne, today announced to parliament that the planned cuts in British troops in Iraq would be delayed. فإن وزير الدفاع ، des براون ، اليوم أعلن أمام البرلمان ان المخطط اجراء تخفيضات فى القوات البريطانية فى العراق سوف يتأخر.

“It is prudent to pause reductions while the current situation is unfolding,” he said. "فانه من الحكمة ان نتوقف التخفيضات في حين ان الحاله الراهنة تتكشف ،" قال. “For this reason we will keep our forces at current levels.” "ولهذا السبب سنبقي قواتنا عند المستويات الحالية."

“We will make any further decisions on the basis of military advice on the ground and our assessment of what conditions are on the ground,” he said. "سنبذل اية قرارات اخرى على اساس المشوره العسكرية على ارض الواقع وتقييمنا للظروف ما هي على أرض الواقع ،" قال.

Earlier, the Tory leader, David Cameron, told Sky News it would be “a matter of regret” if promised troop reductions did not take place, but added: “It wouldn’t be right for me to rush to judgment.” فى وقت سابق ، ومحافظ الزعيم ، ديفيد كاميرون ، قال سكاى نيوز انه سيكون "يبعث على الأسف" اذا وعد تخفيض القوات لم يحدث ، لكنه اضاف قائلا : "لن يكون من حق لي ان ازف الى الحكم."
