NORTH Ayrshire Council are to officially oppose government plans for identity cards. الشمال ayrshire المجلس رسميا معارضتها لخطط الحكومة لبطاقات الهوية.
Councillors voted by a majority of three to reject the controversial documents on Wednesday. صوت أعضاء المجلس باغلبيه اصوات ثلاث الى رفض جدل الوثائق يوم الاربعاء.
Only Labour councillors voted against an SNP-led motion calling on the council not to co-operate with the National Identity Scheme. فقط العمل في المجالس صوتت ضد snp التي تقودها حركة داعيا المجلس الى عدم التعاون مع الهوية الوطنية للمخطط.
Ardrossan SNP councillor Tony Gurney — who proposed the motion, seconded by Kilwinning Lib Dem councillor Andrew Chamberlain — said ID cards were an attack on civil liberties. “It is vitally important that every citizen in Scotland lets Labour know this is an attack too far. "من المهم للغاية ان كل مواطن في اسكتلندا يتيح له العمل نعرف هذا هجوم أبعد مما ينبغي.
“This decision is the first part of that message that we are sending to the London government.” "ان هذا القرار يأتي الجزء الاول من تلك الرسالة التي اننا نبعث لندن الى الحكومة."
The motion went to a vote after Labour’s Peter McNamara pleaded for an amendment which would have seen the issue referred to the Council’s Executive and Scrutiny Committees. الاقتراح ذهبت الى العمل بعد تصويت 'sبيتر ماكنمارا مناشده لتعديل من شأنه ان شهدت القضية المشار اليها المجلس التنفيذي واللجان التدقيق.
He said it was an opportunity for the council to prove that the cabinet committee system worked and rival councillors could trust each other. وقال إنها كانت فرصة لمجلس الامن لاثبات ان مجلس الوزراء نظام عمل اللجنة واعضاء المجلس ويمكن ان ينافس يثقون بعضهم ببعض.
He also said the process would also allow councillors time to thoroughly research the arguments for and against ID cards before any decision was taken. كما قال ان عملية كما سيتيح الوقت لاعضاء المجلس باستفاضه البحث الحجج المؤيدة والمعارضة لبطاقات الهوية قبل اتخاذ اي قرار.
But Councillor Gurney refused to back down, adding that recent events had shown the government could not be trusted with personal data and that the estimated £18bn it would cost to set up the scheme would be better spent on local services. ولكن عضو المجلس gurney رفض التراجع ، مضيفا ان الاحداث الاخيرة قد اظهرت الحكومة لا يمكن أن يثق مع البيانات الشخصيه وان يقدر £ 18bn سيكلف انشاء مخطط سيكون من الافضل انفاقها على الخدمات المحلية.
