Fingerabdrücke erfordert für Großbritannien Visa

LONDON (AP) - alle Besucher nach Großbritannien, das Visa erfordert, muß Fingerabdrücke genommenes beginnen sein Montag, die gesagte Regierung.
Immigration-Minister Liam Byrne, der die beantragen ein britisches Visum von irgendwelchen von 133 Ländern besagt ist, würde jetzt ihre Fingerabdrücke gegen eine Datenbank überprüfen lassen.
Byrne sagte das System, das die Regierung stufenweise um die Welt seit September 2006 vorgestellt hat, hatte gefangengenommen bereits biometrische Informationen von mehr als 1 Million Leuten. Er sagte, daß das System fast 500 Fälle vom Identität Betrug gekennzeichnet hatte.
Logging and checking visitors’ biometric information is one of the central planks of the government’s new immigration strategy, which includes the introduction of an Australian-style points system intended to select encourage skilled immigrants, the creation of police-like border force and fines for bosses who do not ensure their employees are legally entitled to work in Britain.
Tourists from the United States and the European Union, who do not require visas for short visits to Britain, will not be fingerprinted.
