Influential Neocon Calls for Boots on the Ground in Kurdistan

Sens. McCain and Graham demand further military action against ISIS

Bill Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard and a key figure of the neocon movement, is calling for Democrats and Republicans to come together and support boots on the ground in Kurdistan.

“No one wants American kids to go back in and fight in Iraq, but a few thousand troops maybe in Kurdistan, just to help them stabilize the situation, some air power to bash ISIS, whether killing Christians or killing other sects, and just to stop their advance, at least, to stabilize the situation, I think the President would have huge bipartisan support if he ordered such things,” Kristol told the Hugh Hewitt Show.

Senator John McCain also called for action against ISIS, the terrorist army funded and supported by the Saudis and the CIA and trained by the U.S. Army in Jordan.

“I would be launching airstrikes not only in Iraq, but in Syria against ISIS,” McCain told CNN’s Candy Crowley on Sunday. “They have erased the boundaries between Iraq and Syria. I would be providing as much training and equipment as I can to — as I said, to the Kurds, and I would do a lot of things that we can not have to wait for Maliki to leave there. And I would be giving assistance to the Syrian – the Free Syrian Army, which is on the ropes right now because we failed to help them. And this all goes back to a number of steps the president took, including a failure to leave a residual force in Iraq.”

South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, told “Fox News Sunday” ISIS represents “direct threat to our homeland.”

“Do you really want to let America be attacked?” he asked. “What is going on in Washington when the FBI director, when the head of national intelligence, the CIA, the Homeland Security secretary, tells every member of Congress, including the president, we’re about to be attacked in a serious way because (of) the threat emanating from Syria and Iraq?”

The alleged threat to the homeland was underscored on Monday when it was reported an ISIS sympathizer, American citizen Donald Ray Morgan, was arrested by the FBI at the JFK airport in New York City.

“Counter-terrorism agents were alerted to a series of worrying twitter posts made by Morgan while in the Middle East under the alias Abu Omar al Amreeki,” the Daily Mail reports.

“In one post he pledged his allegiance to IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.”

The arrest followed calls by ISIS to wage a terror campaign inside America following Obama’s latest incursion into Iraq.

The latest chapter in the war on terror promises to be far more effective in ensuring the U.S. military will remain indefinitely in the Middle East. It will also renew the supposed homegrown terror threat designed to get the attention of the American people and serve as a foundation for the continued expansion of the NSA surveillance state.
