Blair Watch مشاهدة بلير | There is much debate over the Irish rejection of the Lisbon treaty, but what I’m finding interesting is how a democratic decision by an electorate is regarded in the EU institutions. | هناك الكثير من النقاش حول الايرلنديه الرفض للمعاهدة لشبونة ، ولكن ما أنا للاهتمام هو كيفية ايجاد ديمقراطيه القرار الذي اتخذته هيئة الناخبين يعتبر في مؤسسات الاتحاد الاوروبي. Remember, most nations have ratified the treaty by shoving it through their national parliament, often with little debate. تذكر ان معظم الدول التي صدقت على المعاهدة من قبل الدفع انه من خلال البرلمان الوطني ، في كثير من الاحيان مع قليل من النقاش.
How people respond and react will say a lot about how democratic Europe really is. So far there is no confirmation that ZANU-PF have offered him a job as Press Spokesman. حتى الآن لا يوجد اى تأكيد بان zanu ع ع - وقد عرضت عليه وظيفة كما صرح الناطق باسم الصحافة.

One wonders if he would have written the same thing about the mechanism if the vote has been Yes, but the fact that the EU hasn’t been ’sold’ is the key point. ويتساءل المرء اذا كان قد كتب نفس الشيء عن آلية للتصويت اذا كان نعم ، ولكن الحقيقة ان الاتحاد الاوروبي لم 'تباع' هى النقطه الاساسية.
Aiden Gibson Aiden جيبسون makes a case for a Pro-Europe No vote. يجعل من قضية لصالح أوروبا لا يوجد تصويت. EU Observer مراقبي الاتحاد الاوروبي supports the Lisbon treaty but reflects that the EU hasn’t made enough progress on improving democracy, thansparency or efficiency. وتؤيد معاهدة لشبونة وإنما هو يعكس ان الاتحاد الاوروبي لم تقدم ما يكفى من التقدم على تحسين الديمقراطيه ، thansparency او الكفاءه. A very interesting article. المادة مثيرة جدا للاهتمام.
In a disturbing development, the Irish Daily Mail has في تطور مثير للانزعاج ، وقد الايرلنديه الديلي ميل published a secret memo نشرت مذكرة سرية where EC Vice-President Margot Wallstrom will ‘tone down or delay and pronouncements from Brussels that may be unhelpful’ . حيث نائب رئيس المفوضية الاوروبية Margot wallstrom سوف 'اللهجه الى اسفل او تأخير التصريحات من بروكسل والتي قد تكون غير مفيدة'. Bruno Waterfield of the Daily Telegraph برونو waterfield من الديلى تيليجراف takes up the story تتناول قصة .

So what’s really going on? ذلك حقا ما يحدث؟
The EU was designed from the very start to be a top down organisation, mainly by people who were deeply affected by WWII and its aftermath. وقال إن الاتحاد الاوروبي مصمم منذ البداية على ان تكون منظمة من اعلى لاسفل ، وذلك اساسا من الناس كانت تتأثر تأثرا شديدا wwii وبعدها. They designed a set up where ‘we know what’s best for you’ ruled the day. انها صممت فيها انشاء 'ونحن نعرف ما هو خير لكم' قضت يوما بعد يوم. They also narrowed down decision making to make it more manageable, or malleable depending on your perspective. كما انها تضييق نطاق عملية صنع القرار لجعلها اكثر قابليه للادارة ، او حسب رغبتك طيع المنظور.
For many years this did reasonably well and life carried on. لسنوات عديدة هل هذا معقول والتي تقوم على الحياة.
Today things are different. اليوم الأمور مختلفة. Politics has changed, on the one hand many parties have moved to the centre and blurred the lines between them. السياسة قد تغيرت ، من ناحية العديد من الاطراف قد انتقلوا الى مركز وخطوط واضحة بينهما. Faced with a preceived lack of difference or choice, allied to the rise of the internet, people became disillusioned and cynical. One aspect is the rise of single issue politics, either as a simple “Out of Europe Now’ or protests against veal calf exports, road building etc. جانب واحد هو ارتفاع السياسة قضية واحدة ، اما في شكل بسيط "من اوروبا الان' او الاحتجاج على لحم العجول العجل الصادرات ، وبناء الطرق ، الخ.
People still have some sort of connection to their MP, but not to their MEP’s who have unmanagabley large constituencies. ولا يزال الناس نوعا من الصدد الى النائب ، ولكن ليس الى برنامج الامتياز الاداري التابع لها unmanagabley كبير من الدوائر الانتخابية. They are also working in Brussels and Strasbourg, physically remote from their constituents. كما انها تسعى جاهده في بروكسل وستراسبورغ ، بدنيا بعيدة عن ناخبيهم. Indeed one reform that could be helpful is to close down Strasbourg and have one seat of government. والواقع ان واحد ان الاصلاح يمكن ان تكون مفيدة هي لاغلاق ستراسبورغ ، ومقعد واحد للحكومة.
The Irish citizens, like a great many other countries inhabitants, would if they were allowed to, have given the EU a bloody nose. فان المواطنين الايرلنديين ، شأنها في ذلك شأن عدد كبير من سكان البلدان الاخرى ، إذا سمح لهم ، وبالنظر الى الاتحاد الاوروبي دموي من الانف. Not entirely because they want out of the EU, but they want an accountable and democratic EU. The message is clear: “We’re here, take notice of us” . ليست كلها لانهم يريدون الخروج من الاتحاد الأوروبي ، ولكنها تريد ديمقراطيه خاضعه للمساءلة والاتحاد الاوروبي. الرسالة واضحة : "نحن هنا ، ان تحيط علما منا".
Will Europe make real and serious attempts to be open, transparent and above all, democratic? The replies of Eurocrats and Brussels insiders to the referendum will be the earliest indication. وسوف اوروبا احراز تقدم حقيقي ومحاولات جادة لتكون مفتوحة وشفافة وقبل كل شيء ، الديمقراطيه؟ ردود eurocrats وبروكسل والمطلعين على الاستفتاء سيكون اقرب اشارة.
Watch them like hawks. مشاهدة لهم مثل الصقور. We disagree with UKIP as we feel there is a chance, albeit slim and against massive odds, to build an open Europe, but an essential requirement is that those employed or funded by the European institutions must be willing do do whatever it takes to ensure these fundamental reforms are discussed and implemented, and we mean a lot more action than writing meaningless, bland and turgid press releases and reports that essentially say as little as possible or occasional maealy mouthed press conferences. اننا نختلف مع ukip لأننا نرى أن هناك فرصة ، ولو ضءيله وضد احتمالات هاءله ، مفتوحة لبناء اوروبا ، ولكن شرطا اساسيا هو ان العاملين او ممول من قبل المؤسسات الاوروبية يجب ان يكون مستعدا هل تفعل كل ما يلزم لضمان هذه ويناقش الاصلاحات الاساسية وتنفيذها ، ونحن هنا نتحدث عن العمل أكثر بكثير من معنى الكتابة ، ورقيق turgid البيانات الصحفيه والتقارير التي تقول اساسا الا لأقل ما يمكن او عرضية maealy تكلم المؤتمرات الصحفيه.
Jean -Paul Satre Famously said ‘Hell is other people’, If he’d been still around he would realise that Hell is in fact reading EU documents. جان بول satre وقال جملته الشهيرة 'الجحيم هو الآخرون' ، وقال انه اذا كانت تريد وقال انه لا يزال نحو تحقيق ذلك الجحيم هي في الواقع قراءة وثائق الاتحاد الاوروبي.
We need a real commitment to transform the European Project from a top-down institution to a bottom up one. اننا بحاجة الى التزام حقيقي لتحويل المشروع الأوروبي من اعلى الى اسفل الى مؤسسة واحدة من اسفل الى اعلى.
