San Francisco, the “cool, grey city of love,” is getting creative as it readies to face off against another “free-speech” gathering of creeps, losers and bigots. Among scores of planned counter-protests, many doubling as progressive fundraisers: resistance rallies by clowns, drag queens, cute kids, kayakers, flower people and dog owners leaving “a gift for our alt-right friends,” because “poop is easier to clean up than hate.” The over-all goal: “To dispel fear (and) have a ball doing it.”
