The US cannot be trusted to work with the International Criminal Court (ICC) on bringing Daesh to justice as Washington is working towards the same objectives as the terror group, American geopolitical analyst Eric Draitser says.
The White House announced Thursday that the US is ready to work with the ICC in any possible probe into the genocide committed by the Daesh terrorist group in Iraq and Syria.
“The United States will cooperate with independent efforts to investigate genocide,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said on Thursday.
Earnest added that the administration of President Barack Obama is willing to support the ICC in collecting evidence.
The announcement came shortly after the United States finally declared that Daesh “genocide” against religious minorities, particularly Shia Muslims, Christians, and Izadi Kurds in Iraq and Syria, and vowed to halt it.
