US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to a new low following a poor performance by the White House on several key issues.
Only 33 percent of American voters approve of how Trump is performing as president, while 61 percent said they disapproved, a new Quinnipiac University poll has found.
The president’s approval rating is down 7 percentage points from the 40 percent rating he received in a similar poll in the last week of June.
According to the Quinnipiac University survey, Trump was accused of mishandling key issues like foreign policy, economy, immigration, healthcare and terrorism.
The majority of voters said Trump was not honest, did not have good leadership skills, was not intelligent and did not care about them.
More than 50 percent of those surveyed also said the US president had attempted to derail or obstruct the investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election.
