Trump agrees with Hannity ‘deep state' working against government

US President Donald Trump has agreed with Fox News host Sean Hannity that the so-called “deep state” is attempting to undermine his government.

On Friday, Trump shared a tweet from Hannity promoting the commentator’s monologue focusing on punishing “deep state” actors who are working against the administration.

The term deep state, or derin devlet in Turkish, originated in 1950s Turkey, refers to a secretive network of influential members of government agencies or the military that operates outside the democratic system.  The group is believed to be involved in the secret manipulation or control of government policy.
