President Trump declared the 2018 midterm elections a “big victory” Wednesday morning, and said the federal government can “get back to work” now that the elections are over.
“Received so many Congratulations from so many on our Big Victory last night, including from foreign nations (friends) that were waiting me out, and hoping, on Trade Deals,” Trump posted to Twitter Wednesday. “Now we can all get back to work and get things done!”

As predicted, Democrats are projected to take back the House majority as Tuesday night’s election results roll in. They already hold 219 seats and are expected to pick up several more. But Republicans are projected to grow their majority in the Senate — they had 51 seats locked up Wednesday morning, and could win another three.
Trump said those who lost did so because they didn’t embrace him.
Those that worked with me in this incredible Midterm Election, embracing certain policies and principles, did very well. Those that did not, say goodbye! Yesterday was such a very Big Win, and all under the pressure of a Nasty and Hostile Media!
