PressTV-US Congress considering FBI ‘corruption’ probe

US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is working with his fellow Republicans in Congress to put together a report that is likely to trigger a probe into “corruption” at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), according to a new report.

The report and its pursuing investigation would focus on the conduct of FBI officials in the course of the investigation into Russia’s alleged meddling in the 2016 US presidential election, The Washington Post reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Similar efforts are in progress in Senate as well, with Senator Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the Republican who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, complaining that the FBI and the Justice Department have been too slow to stop people peddling “political influence.”
