US President Donald Trump has again traded barbs with North Korean leader, complaining about being called “old” by North Korea’s foreign ministry.
“Why would [North Korea leader] Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me ‘old,’ when I would NEVER call him ‘short and fat?’ Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend – and maybe someday that will happen!” Trump wrote sarcastically on Sunday.
Trump, 71, made the remarks after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam, part of his 12-day tour of Asia to rally pressure against Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.
Shortly after the tweet, Trump told reporters in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi that friendship with Kim although “strange,” is still a “certain possibility.”
