US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker says President Donald Trump is ready to pull the United States out of the Iran nuclear agreement next month.
“If nothing changes between now and May 12, the president is absolutely going to withdraw from the agreement,” the Republican senator from Tennessee said on Wednesday.
Corker said “many people around the president” would like to see cooperation between the US and Europeans to put pressure on Iran so that the country changes its behavior in the Middle East region.
Corker, one of the main architects of anti-Iran sanctions in the Senate, said French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to the US by the end of April and will likely discuss the Iran deal with the Trump administration.
