The Russian lawyer who met with US President Donald Trump’s oldest son last year says he indicated that his father would be willing to reconsider sanctions imposed on Moscow in 2012.
Natalia Veselnitskaya made the comments in an interview with Bloomberg in the Russian capital Moscow on Monday.
In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, Veselnitskaya met with Donald Trump Jr., as well as President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and then campaign manager Paul Manafort in New York.
The meeting has played a key role in an ongoing investigation for possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, an allegation both sides have dismissed.
On June 9, 2016, Veselnitskaya met with them to talk to them about the Democrats’ next move on the anti-Russia Magnitsky Act.
