Canadian-American actor Jim Carrey is encouraging Facebook users to delete their accounts over the social media’s role in Russia’s “intervention” in the 2016 presidential election.
Carrey took to Twitter on Tuesday to make the announcement about Facebook.
“I’m dumping my @facebook stock and deleting my page because @facebook profited from Russian interference in our elections and they’re not doing enough to stop it,” Carrey tweeted, along with a drawing of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The American online social media and social networking service company announced in October 2017 that as many as 126 million people may have been exposed to contents posted by accounts related to the Russian government.
