On the verge of an inevitable collapse like that of the Soviet Union in 1989, the American Empire intends to take everyone down with it, says an analyst based in San Antonio.
Mark Dankof, who once ran for the US Senate, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Wednesday about a prediction by former US congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul about the imminent demise of the American political system.
Paul told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that a year of apparent economic growth under President Donald Trump was an illusion and the US was inching closer to a Soviet-like downfall.
“We’re on the verge of something like what happened in ‘89 when the Soviet system just collapsed,” the renowned politician said. “I’m just hoping our system comes apart as gracefully as the Soviet system.”
