Thousands of Britons say have promised to welcome US President Donald Trump with a “carnival of protests” when he heads to the UK on his first state visit to the country on Thursday.
Protest organizers say preparations are taking on “a life of their own” as dozens of activist groups have joined forces with a long list of politicians and major British figures, who have demanded Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Theresa May to retract the invitation, The Guardian reported Monday.
On Thursday afternoon, when Trump is expected to stay at the US ambassador’s residence in Regent’s Park, London, protesters will greet him with a “wall of sound.”
Trump and his wife, Melania, will then be encountered by protesters at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, where they will attend a dinner for 100 guests.
