PressTV-41% in ‘Trump counties’ say US worse off: Poll

A plurality of Americans who live in counties that helped US President Donald Trump win the 2016 presidential election say the United States is worse off since he became president, a new poll shows.

The NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll published on Wednesday found that 41 percent of Americans who live in “Trump counties” said the US was in worse shape since Trump took office, while 32 percent believe the country is better off.

An additional 26 percent say the state of the nation has remained about the same.

The poll surveyed residents from 438 counties in the states of Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

These counties are made up of people who are whiter, more rural, less educated and older compared to the rest of the country, the poll shows.
