The cost of healthcare in the United Sates is too high and President Barack Obama’s legacy-defining healthcare law called the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, was a “scam” that failed to offer affordable coverage for low-income Americans, says Stephen Lendman, a journalist and political analyst in Chicago.
Health insurance in the US “cost a fortune,” Lendman said during an interview with Press TV on Thursday. “The greatest cause of bankruptcy in America is healthcare cost, extraordinarily high healthcare cost that people cannot afford, that’s the problem.”
“Obamacare did not fix the problem; it let people with pre-existing conditions get coverage that they didn’t get before, but they paid plenty for it and many people cannot afford it,” Lendman said during an interview with Press TV on Thursday.
“Obamacare was a scam,” he added.
