Obama, Bush more popular during retirement than President Trump: Poll

Former US Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama are both more popular than now- President Donald Trump, a new poll shows.

According to the Gallup poll released Monday, Obama maintains a 63 percent approval rating while Bush enjoys a 59 percent support.

Conducted from June 7-11, the poll showed that the Republican president gained 7 percentage points over the past year.

His approval rating has risen among almost all core demographics surveyed by the poll, with the exception of young adults, with whom his approval rating remained well below the national average at just 42 percent , according to Gallup.

His support among Democrats has also shot up fourfold to 41 percent since March 2009.

Meanwhile, support for Obama, a Democrat, has been steady since he was last surveyed by Gallup during the lame-duck period of his presidency.
