A street party to celebrate the 90th birthday of British Queen Elizabeth II has received a 100,000-pound donation from an anonymous person branded “mystery millionaire” by the UK media.
The festivities are set to be held at The Mall in St James’s Park in the City of Westminster, central London, on June 12th.
When prices for the event were announced earlier this year, the organizer, Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips, admitted that the event was “not exactly a cheap exercise.”
There were claims that charities looking forward to partake could not afford the £150-a-head asking price, which paved the way for the “anonymous” to step in and defray the expenses.
