A new survey study in the US reveals that a majority of young adults in the country – including three-quarters of African Americans and nearly half of whites – regard President Donald Trump as an “illegitimate president.”
According to the poll conducted by GenForward and reported by the
AP on Saturday, overall 57 percent of American young adults view Trump’s presidency as illegitimate, also including large majorities of Hispanic- and Asian-Americans and 47 percent of white respondents.
The breakdown of the results further indicated that 53 percent of young white respondents consider Trump as a legitimate president, though a majority in that group, about 55 percent, view his job performance negatively.
By and large, the survey shows that 22 percent of young adults approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 62 percent disapprove.
