Cruz vows to ‘utterly and completely destroy’ Daesh

US Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz has criticized the Obama administration over its “weak” foreign policy, and vowed to “utterly and completely destroy” Daesh (ISIL) terrorists if he became the president.   

“Enough is enough,” Cruz declared in an interview with Fox News on Sunday. “We need a commander in chief who will keep this country safe.”

Cruz, who is currently second behind Donald Trump in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, said the administration of President Barack Obama has embraced policies that “make no sense.”

“We need a commander in chief that is focused on defeating radical Islamic terrorism [sic], utterly destroying ISIS [Daesh] and on keeping America safe,” he said.

“If I’m president, we will utterly and completely destroy ISIS,” the Texas senator said, referring to the Daesh Takfiri group, which was created and funded by the US and its regional allies.
