The new year is almost here! If it’s anything like the rollercoaster that was 2017, you’ll need some enjoyable cinema to help you decompress after a long day of calling your local politicians. That means watching some damn good films while you’re on hold. Netflix is here to serve up a variety of original content in addition to some classic cinema perfect for kicking off your 2018 resolution to watch the top 100 IMDb films. Just make sure you check out the shows and films Netflix is dropping from its lineup before you miss out.
The Highlights
Netflix is kicking off the new year by adding some classic films to its lineup. The first day of the new year brings Breakfast at Tiffany’s, all three Godfather films, all four Lethal Weapon movies, and The Shawshank Redemption. And you can always check out the five Batman films being made available for your viewing pleasure. Starting with Tim Burton’s Batman and ending with Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, get ready for a parade of formed butts and nipple armor galore.
January also marks the premiere of more than a few Netflix Originals. The first season of Devilman Crybaby, directed by Kaiba creator Masaaki Yuasa, takes the iconic manga and transforms it into a 10-episode anime. The tenth and latest season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is moving to Netflix, so you can get all the Seinfeld you need without Michael Richards bursting through an apartment door. The fourth season of Grace and Frankie is also available for streaming while you, I don’t know, fold the laundry or something.
