White House Secret Service officer arrested in child sex sting

A White House Secret Service officer has been arrested for allegedly sending obscene photographs to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl from Delaware, according to a criminal complaint.

Lee Robert Moore was caught in a sting operation by Delaware State Police after he allegedly sent nude pictures of himself along with several messages to an officer posing as a young girl, reads the complaint unsealed Thursday.

Some of the messages between Moore, 37, and the undercover officer were reportedly sent from the White House grounds. Moore has reportedly requested meetings and sexual encounters with the officer.

He turned himself in to the Maryland State Police Barracks on Monday, when the complaint was also lodged against him in the US District Court for Delaware.

“The Secret Service takes allegations of potential criminal activity extremely seriously,” a Secret Service spokeswoman said in a statement Thursday afternoon.
