UK police accused of institutional racism

The family of a refugee murdered after police in Bristole failed to protect him in 2013 against a mob has accused police of institutional racism.

Bijan Ebrahimi was killed in July 2013 by his violent neighbor Lee James amid false claims he was a paedophile.

The Guardian writes:” Police had gone to Ebrahimi’s home three days before he was murdered after he told them James had burst into his home and threatened him, but they arrested Ebrahimi rather than James. He spent the night in a police station and after he was taken home made a string of calls to police, but his pleas for protection went unheeded.”

James claimed that Ebrahimi had filmed his children but reports say he was actually recording anti-social behavior to submit to Bristol City Council.
