Two American news journalists have been shot dead during a live television news report in the state of Virginia, according to officials.
Reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward from WDBJ News Station were killed during an interview in Moneta, Bedford County on Wednesday.
About eight gunshots were heard while the reporter and the cameraman were interviewing someone on-screen.
After the shooting, the camera dropped to the ground and the broadcast cut back to the anchor desk. The video captured an image of what is believed to be the suspected shooter before it cut away.
Authorities from Bedford County, Franklin County and Virginia State Police are on the scene of the incident.
