Pornography in the United States has become “a public health crisis” and a “public menace” that is destroying the lives of millions, Republican delegates to the GOP presidential nominating convention say.
During preliminary meetings in Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday, Republican delegates unanimously adopted an amendment to their draft platform which called for current laws on pornography and obscenity to be “vigorously enforced.”
“The internet must not become a safe haven for predators,” the provision states. “Pornography, with its harmful effects, especially on children, has become a public health crisis that is destroying the life of millions.”
