There is no escape from the Republican warmongers

Paul Craig Roberts

(RINF) – There is not a peaceful person among the Republican candidates. Even the female is heartless. Carly Fiorina positioned herself alongside the macho men as a warmonger. She let the military/security complex know that she, too, was for sale. Send in the campaign donations, and she will see that the money flows back to the military/security complex in the buildup of fleets and armaments that will send the Russians a message.

Alas, the only message US politicians want to send to the Russians is a war message. The Pentagon has upgraded the newly orchestrated “Russian threat” to “potentially aggressive” and is updating its plans for war with Russia.

What has Russia done to cause Washington to plan war with Russia? Don’t you know? Russia invaded Ukraine, just like Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and al-Qaeda connections.

If Russia invaded Ukraine, how come Ukraine is still there? If weak insignificant Ukraine fought off a Russian invasion, then how is it possible that Russia is a threat?

To deal with the “Russian threat” Washington has sent armed German jet fighters to patrol the skies over the Baltic oligarchies. Washington tells Russia that the fighters are not directed at Russia. So why the fighters? Perhaps they are there to protect the Baltics from Iran like that anti-ballistic missile system Washington placed in Poland to protect Europe from nonexistent Iranian nuclear ICBMs.

It is reckless for Washington to take provocative actions against Russia and to tell Russia that the actions are directed elsewhere. Russia knows full well that the actions are directed against Russia. What Washington is teaching Russia is that Washington can never be believed. As everything Washington says is a lie, Russia cannot risk making an agreement with Washington to end the orchestrated conflict, because Washington’s word is meaningless. A liar simply cannot be trusted.

Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, has often remarked that Washington’s provocations and propaganda are destroying trust between nuclear powers, thus raising the risk of nuclear war. But Washington is too full of arrogance and hubris to hear. Washington only hears itself.

In February 2012, President Putin made it clear that Russia rejects Washington’s policy known as “airstrike democracy” that overrides international law with military force. Putin said that Washington’s pursuit of hegemony makes every other country unsafe. Washington’s policy of violence, Putin said, might have extremely serious consequences for Washington.

Three and one-half years later, the morons competing for the Republican presidential nomination are making it even more clear that they have not heard what Russia has been telling them.

If any of the Republicans are elected, or for that matter any of the Democrats, war will be the result. There is no point worrying that both parties intend to take away your Social Security, Medicare, and private pensions, because you won’t be here to collect them.

Spot on!! When will the masses remove the blinders and wake up?? Just say NO!! NO to more war-mongering, no to more chest thumping, no to women trying to grow a false set of cajones. Enough already.

MAKE them SERVE in the Front Lines ……. THAT will end the bloodlust.
Ever since 9/11 the Military/BANKER/Industrial Complex has done everything it could to provoke and create MORE terrorists —- WAR PROFITEERS have to have a war going for SELF-ENRICHMENT. Iraq quieted down and NEW threats -ISIS- HAD to emerge.
“Don’t forget what I discovered—that over ninety percent of all national deficits from 1921 to 1939 were caused by payments for past, present, and future wars.” Franklin D. Roosevelt
“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.” — Dwight D. Eisenhower
before the existence of private central banking, there was no such thing as a world war.

YOUR schools, electric grid, healthcare, national infrastructure, are being blown up in the form of $250,000 bombs dropped on $10 MUD HUTS, so the WAR PROFITEERS can eat lobster and lounge on yachts.

Thanx for the cheery thought Paul ;)

But yeah I get your point. I sometimes look at the so-called “candidates” and wonder what lunatic asylum allowed these people to escape?

I mean. Where are the butterfly nets when ya need ’em?

Dr Strangelove is moving from satire to reality.

    • sadabusenormalanyway

Nobody would want to live day after day after day spouting scripts from ” The Invasion of the Body Snatchers . ”
Dr Strangelove is a brilliant film noir but it does not have any relation to reality in the UK or the USA or Russia or any powerful country.
Some psychological experiments have attracted quasi sadists from the 1950’s onward . Many of these experiments today seem to possess odd gaming tokens for unresolved infantile “vengeances ” . Jack D Ripper was a hysterically amusing villain with infantile vengeances but the actor Sterling Hayden knew what emotional and personal damaging effects that well meaning totalitarianism players (an oxymoron phrase alert !) could bring to innocent victims.

Actually life in general is looking like a badly written screen play which has been poorly directed involving a cast of billions ;)

        • sadabusenormalanyway

Life in general can be temporarily awful for billions in all sorts of ways. I hope the migrant diaspora will resolve into livable conditions for wartime refugees very quickly.
My mother was devastated for decades by being told inadvertently at the age of 26 that she was adopted by her aunt. Her life was in general was temporarily terrible. Even after a lifetime of a plethora of memories she could not talk about her infancy . She felt she had been abandoned by her father .
These punishing the child with scapegoating mind sets of the past is something that should be addressed as the horrible hypocrisy that it is.
My mother’s life was full of happiness and ridiculously unnecessary sadness but that terrible hypocrisy of blaming the victim is a behavior we should all avoid .
Sorry to burden you with my mother’s bitter story but this is a chat room!

    Hmmm

The author of this article very conveniently forgets that Bernie Sanders has been in bed with the Military Industrial Complex since day one in Congress. Furthermore he has voted to fund every military action that has come across his desk. You will hear and read about Bernie voting “no” to invade Iraq in 2002. But nary a peep about granting the President blanket authority to wage war a few months later. Nor will you be informed about Bernie voting to fund all subsequent “wars” either.

It is simply amazing how brazen the US media apparatus has become in manipulating elections. If one spends a few minutes and makes a cursory examination of the media “coverage” of the candidates a clear pictures emerges. Every candidate is under attack by the media with 1 glaring exception. And yet you will hear his campaign slam the media for their negative coverage of his candidacy. Every day I check Fox and CNN etc. for all the “negative” coverage of Bernie. Where are all those hard hitting editorials from major MSM or online outlets demanding clarification of Bernie’s military voting record and his blind allegiance to Israel and its drive to steal Palestine? Where are the articles pointing demanding clarification and amplification of Bernie’s nonexistent foreign policy positions? Other than total and complete support in every way shape and form of Israel of course they seem to be missing in action as it were.
Where is all that bad press Bernie keeps whining about?

The author didn’t forget a thing.
If you actually take time to read the entire article, you’ll note that the next to last paragraph begins with this sentence, “…If any of the Republicans are elected, or for that matter any of the Democrats, war will be the result…”

Actually, Trump has repeatedly said that he thinks that he and Putin would get along extremely well and I think it is disingenuous for Paul Craig Roberts to have deliberately avoided mentioning this fact. Trump stands alone in his non-aggressive position regarding Putin, and deserves credit for it. In fact, it is this attitude by Trump that plays a very big part in the hysteria by the neo-con war mongering cabal that is directed at a possible Trump nomination as the GOP Presidential candidate.

Please do not misinterpret this comment as a total endorsement of Donald Trump, because Trump has a number of other positions on several issues that I strongly reject. Such as his notion that the USA should be adopting the Israeli policy of targeting and murdering the wives, children, and elderly relatives of anyone who our neo-con infested government decides is a ‘suspected’ terrorist. Or, his often stated notion that the USA should steal the oil fields that are the property of a sovereign nation – simply because we are big and mean enough to do it. That is no different than someone deciding to walk across the street, knock down his neighbor’s front door – use his 12 gauge shotgun to dispatch his neighbor and his entire family, and then haul away the neighbor’s 42 inch wide HDTV set, and any other item of value found in his home. There is literally no difference between that sort of thuggery and what Trump wants to do by stealing their oil fields.

And, then there is the extremely stupid notion where Trump wants to build a great big beautiful wall to secure our Southern border and deport every illegal alien – which I fully support – but, then Trump wants to put a big gate in that wall and let the ‘good ones’ back in? I want these illegal Mestizo aliens deported and KEPT OUT of the USA, permanently. I do NOT want to live in a permanent Democrat Communist Party dictatorship, Donald – and that is precisely what we will wind up with if we continue to let the left import parasitical, low IQ, poorly educated, incompatible third world aliens into America. Thus, it makes zero difference if these third worlders are here illegally or legally – the end result is the same, and i DO NOT WANT A DEMOCRAT COMMUNIST PARTY DICTATORSHIP to be imposed on America.
