Wednesday, November 7th, 2007 الاربعاء ، تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر 7th ، 2007 Police could be given the power to question suspects after they have been charged, the Home Secretary has said.Although MPs are discussing the possibility of giving new powers to police to deal specifically with terror suspects, the Home Secretary has admitted that the Government is considering using the new powers with non-terror suspects too. الشرطة يمكن ان تعطى سلطة استجواب المشتبه فيهم بعد ان تكون قد اتهم ، وزير الداخلية قد said.although النواب تناقش امكانيه منح صلاحيات جديدة للشرطة للتعامل مع الارهاب المشتبه فيهم على وجه التحديد ، وقد اعترف وزير الداخلية ان الحكومة تدرس استخدام السلطات الجديدة مع المنظمات غير الارهاب المشتبه بهم ايضا.
Jacqui Smith has said the government was also looking at whether to bring in such a change “more widely” to deal with non-terror crimes, according to the BBC. Jacqui سميث ان الحكومة قد تنظر ايضا في ما اذا كان ادخال مثل هذا التغيير "على نطاق اوسع" للتعامل مع المنظمات غير جرائم الارهاب ، وفقا لهيئة الاذاعة البريطانية.
She told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “Well, we’re looking actually, as part of our review of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, at whether or not it is more widely appropriate, so it’s something that we’re considering more widely on a slightly slower timescale.” وقالت هيئة الاذاعة البريطانية القناة 4 للبرنامج اليوم : "حسنا ، نحن في الواقع تبحث ، كجزء من استعراضنا للقانون الشرطة والادله الجناءيه ، في ما اذا كان على نطاق واسع اكثر ملاءمة ، لذا فانه علينا ان شيئا' اعادة النظر على نطاق اوسع على أبطأ قليلا على الجدول الزمنى. "
The head of MI5 has also been summoned to appear before MPs to explain the plans to detain terrorist suspects without charge for longer. رئيس MI5 ايضا للمثول امام النواب لشرح خطط لاحتجاز الارهابيين المشتبه فيهم دون توجيه تهمة لفترة اطول.

Members of the all-party home affairs committee are demanding to know if there have been any cases where a suspect had to be released because the current limit of 28 days proved too short. اعضاء من جميع الأحزاب لجنة الشؤون الداخلية هي التي تريد أن تعرف إذا كانت هناك اي الحالات التي يكون فيها احد المشتبه فيهم كان لا بد من اطلاق سراح لان الحد الاقصى الحالي لمدة 28 يوما ثبت قصير للغاية.
Jacqui Smith said that no decision has yet been made on exactly how long the Government wants to be able to hold terror suspects. Jacqui سميث قال ان اي قرار حتى الان على وجه الدقه الى متى تريد الحكومة ان تكون قادرة على اجراء الارهاب المشتبه بهم.
The move came as the Commons began a week-long debate on the Queen’s Speech, with crime and terror the first areas to be discussed today. وقد جاءت هذه الخطوة المشتركة كما بدا لمدة اسبوع على مناقشة خطاب الملكه ، مع الجريمة والارهاب المناطق الاولى التى ستناقش اليوم.

The Queen’s Speech confirmed that the Government is intent on lengthening the limit, but Downing Street briefing notes on the Counter-Terrorism Bill avoided specifying a new limit. الملكه خطاب أكد ان الحكومة عازمه على الحد من إطالة ، ولكن الشارع لأسقاط مذكرات اعلاميه على قانون لمكافحة الارهاب تجنب تحديد الحد جديدة.

In a letter to Mr Evans, committee chairman Keith Vaz makes clear that the MPs expect him to be equally frank on the 28-day issue. وفي رسالة موجهة الى السيد ايفانز ، رئيس لجنة كيث فاز يوضح ان النواب نتوقع منه أن يكون على قدم المساواة صريح على 28 يوما المساله.
The committee is offering Mr Evans the chance to speak in private session with the press and public excluded if he feels his evidence could compromise security or interfere with criminal trials. وتقدم اللجنة السيد ايفانز فرصة ان اتكلم في جلسة خاصة مع استبعاد الصحافة والجمهور كان الإنسان يشعر بلدة ادلة يمكن ان تعرض للخطر الامن او التدخل في المحاكمات الجناءيه.
His responses, along with evidence from Met chief Sir Ian Blair and Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, will be used by the committee in a report that will recommend whether or not the limit should be raised. ردوده ، الى جانب ادلة من اجتمع السير ايان بلير رئيس وجدد وزير jacqui سميث ، وسوف تستخدم من قبل اللجنة فى تقرير ما اذا كان سيوصي أو لا ينبغي أن يكون الحد من آثارها.
