Labour’s Geraldine Smith Upsets Lancaster Parents

Former Labour MP for Morecambe & Lunesdale, Geraldine Smith, has upset Lancaster parents this week by canvassing outside a local school.

Mrs Smith, who has been criticised in the national media earlier this year for allegedly taking part in an expenses funded ‘drinking contest’ with fellow Labour MP Bill Etherington, has been slammed by parents of children attending the Ryelands Primary School in Lancaster, for handing out red Labour ballons to children as they left the school.

One angry parent stated “This is digusting. For a politician to target our children as part of their campaign is despicable. I have never seen anything like this before and I do not understand why the school have allowed it.”

Other parents were seen telling their children to throw away the balloons in protest.

School headteacher, Mrs Myers, was unavailable to comment.
