A network of Japanese lawyers have called the arrests a violation of human rights and a challenge to the freedom of expression in Japan. شبكة من المحامين اليابانيه قد دعت هذه الاعتقالات انتهاكا لحقوق الانسان وتحديا لحرية التعبير في اليابان.
Junichi and Toru have been under arrest since the 20th of June, held without charge. Junichi وتورو كان قيد الاعتقال منذ العشرين من يونيو / حزيران ، محتجزا دون تهمة. Junichi and Toru exposed a whale-meat embezzlement scandal on May 15th by presenting a box of whale meat stolen by crew of Japan’s so-called “scientific whaling” fleet, to the Tokyo Public Prosecutor along with a dossier documenting how they obtained it. The scam, in which prime cuts of whale meat are smuggled off the ship by crewmembers and sold outside official channels, appears to have been running for years with the full awareness of the officials that conduct the whaling expeditions. وتعرض Junichi تورو أ - لحوم الحيتان فضيحه اختلاس الخامس عشر من شهر مايو من خلال تقديم علبة من لحوم الحيتان التي سرقها من افراد الطاقم في اليابان ما يسمى ب "العلميه لصيد الحيتان" اسطول ، والى المدعي العام في طوكيو الى جانب ملف توثيق كيفية الحصول عليه . فإن احتيال ، والذي من رئيس الحكومة تخفيضات لحوم الحيتان ويهرب من افراد طاقم السفينة وبيعها خارج القنوات الرسمية ، ويبدو انها كانت لسنوات على التوالى مع الوعي الكامل من المسؤولين ان اجراء بعثات لصيد الحيتان.
The Japanese whaling programme is funded by taxpayers, at a cost of 500 million yen a year (4.7 million) الياباني لصيد الحيتان هذا البرنامج ممول من دافعي الضرائب ، بتكلفة 500 مليون ين في السنة (4،7 مليون دولار)
The Prosecutor’s office took up an investigation, but concluded there was insufficient evidence to pursue charges against any of the crew or whaling officials. مكتب المدعي العام وتناول التحقيق ، ولكنه خلص الى وجود ادلة كافية لمتابعة الاتهامات ضد اي من المسؤولين او طاقمها أو لصيد الحيتان. The only consequences in the case were for the Greenpeace activists, who intercepted a box of meat as evidence, and were arrested in dramatic raids on their homes and offices, conducted by around 40 police officers in front of television cameras. The police seized documents, computers, cell phones, and the Greenpeace Japan supporter list. نتائج الوحيد في القضية لنشطاء السلام الاخضر ، من اعتراضها علبة من اللحوم وكدليل على ذلك ، وقد ألقى القبض عليهم فى غارات مثيرة على منازلهم ومكاتبهم ، التي تقوم بها حوالى 40 من ضباط الشرطة أمام كاميرات التلفزيون. الشرطة ضبطت وثائق ، الحواسيب والهواتف الخلويه ، وغرين بيس اليابان مؤيد القائمة.
Other voices in Japan are saying that the arrest was a warning to other activist groups that as the G8 approaches, voices of dissent in Japan will not be tolerated. أصوات اخرى في اليابان يقول ان القبض تم توجيه انذار الى غيرها من الجماعات الناشطه كما ان مجموعة الدول الصناعية الثماني الكبرى النهج ، أصوات المعارضة في اليابان لن يتسامح معها.

While he disagrees with Greenpeace’s anti-whaling stance, journalist Takao Saito said the way the police arrested the two men and the way they investigated the group was heavy-handed. وفي حين انه يختلف مع غرين بيس لمكافحة صيد الحيتان الموقف ، وقال سايتو صحفى takao الطريق وقد القت الشرطة القبض على الرجلين ، وطريقة التحقيق في الفريق اليد الغليظه.

"القاء القبض على اثنين من الناشطين ليست فقط انتهاكا لحقوق الانسان فيما يتعلق غير المبرر والاعتقال والاحتجاز والتحقيق ، ولكن أيضا تحديا ضد حرية التعبير.
