If you currently have bad credit and are looking for simple and cost effective ways to boost it, you need to look at the four simple ways to improve credit score. These four simple steps will help if you use them in the correct manner and do not get silly about your approach and you may even find that the whole process is much easier than you first anticipated.
1. Apply for a credit card. Many credit card issuers will not present a person with bad credit a credit card but there are companies that specialize in people with poor or failing credit scores and although the interest rate will be higher, there is no actual need to use the credit card at all. Ideally, you should use the card to buy something small every month and pay the balance in full when the bill comes in and this, in time, will help to slowly boost your credit.
2. Apply for a store card. A store card will very often be approved to those with even the worst credit score and if you use a store that you regularly use anyway, you are not really causing yourself any extra effort. When you walk into the store and buy something, use the card and not your cash, put the cash aside somewhere safe when you get home and then when the bill comes in, use the cash that you put aside to pay the bill and job done. Do this every month and your credit will be raised in no time.
3. If you find yourself having trouble paying a bill whether it is a household bill or from a store card or credit card, make sure that you get in contact with the credit bureau of the company in question and arrange a repayment option. If you are honest with these people, they will help you but you need to make the first step and do not let the situation get out of control. Figuring out a repayment plan that suits you and the company will mean that your credit score is likely to take less of a battering.
4. Do not take out credit for something that you know you are never going to be able to afford. If you can only afford to pay out $200 per month on bills after everything else has been accounted for, do not take out a credit card, store card or loan that requires you to pay back $300 otherwise you will soon find yourself struggling and you will end up back where you started.
