US drone strikes kill 9 in Afghanistan

Nine people have been killed in two separate US assassination drone strikes in different parts of Afghanistan, Press TV reports.

One of the airstrikes took place in southeastern Wardak province on Friday night, killing seven people.

Wardak provincial spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said all the victims were Taliban militants.

In the second incident, two people lost their lives in an airstrike in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar. The US military has also confirmed the deaths.

On September 26, five people died in a US-led airstrike in Saidabad District of Wardak.

On September 25, reports said that a US-led drone strike in the countryâ„¢s northern province of Kunduz killed Chardara district’s shadow governor.

The United Nations says the US-operated drone strikes pose a growing challenge to the international rule of law.
