US should ‘back up, reconsider’ Ukraine stance

The US should “reconsider” its policies towards the situation in Ukraine, says a professor emeritus of the University of Minnesota.

“The United States needs to back up and reconsider its stance,” James Henry Fetzer told Press TV on Tuesday, calling efforts aimed at “provoking matters” in Ukraine “disgraceful”.Fetzer was commenting on earlier remarks by US President Barack Obama, accusing Russia of adopting an “increasingly aggressive posture” over Ukraine.

Fetzer called the remarks “misleading”, saying they showed “the height of hypocrisy” in the US political system.

The US “efforts to convert Ukraine into a Western nation or NATO nation are gross violation of the agreement” between the Soviet Union and the US back in 1991, he said, suggesting the stance was against the US Constitution.
