UK MP slams suspension of LibDem member

British Respect Party MP George Galloway has condemned the suspension of Liberal Democrat MP David Ward for his describing of the Israeli regime as an Å“apartheid state”.

Galloway brought up the subject on Press TVâ„¢s weekly debate program Comment, saying that Ward has been suspended from the Liberal Democrats Å“for telling nothing but the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth”.

The Respect MP added that Wardâ„¢s suspension has happened in order Å“to please the Israel lobby in this country [Britain], which has put the Liberal Democrats under tremendous pressure to discipline him”.

He also welcomed Wardâ„¢s comment on the social networking site, Twitter that the tide has turned against the Å“Zionists” in public opinion.

The Liberal Democrat chief whip Alistair Carmichael announced that he had suspended Ward over the language he used when referring to the Zionist regime of Israel.

Ward, however, denounced the ruling as “disproportionate”, saying he will not apologize for his comments.

The Liberal Democrat party also recently expelled Baroness Jenny Tonge following her anti-Israel remarks in which she asserted that “Israel won’t be there forever”.
