Three more arrests over London murder

UK police detectives have detained three more suspects, allegedly linked to the Woolwich murder.

British police detectives have detained three more suspects, who are allegedly linked to the recent brutal killing of British soldier Lee Rigby in London.

Three men, aged 24, 28 and 21 were arrested in the south-east London area on Saturday, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder in addresses near where Rigby was hacked to death.

The police were backed by specialist firearms officers and used Tasers against two of the detainees.

The arrests come as the British government confirmed the launch of a new crackdown on extremism, which includes a focus on the so-called radical preachers, who allegedly recruit people in mosques, prisons, schools and colleges.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has said that the parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) will begin an investigation, following the revelation that Rigbyâ„¢s killers were known to spy agency MI5.

Sources said earlier this week that Rigbyâ„¢s attackers named as Micheal Adebolajo and his accomplice Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale, were not known to be planning the kill.

Adebolajo and Adebowale are said to be in a stable condition in hospital after being shot by police in Woolwich after the murder.
