Leader of the racist British National Party, Nick Griffin.
British National Party (BNP) chief and Member of European Parliament (MEP) Nick Griffin has angered many Twitter users due to his controversial social network insults against former South African President Nelson Mandela.
Griffin fueled outrage with a number of his tweets describing Mandela as a Å“murdering old terrorist”, while also mocking the former South African presidentâ„¢s lung condition.
The BNP chief wrote, “Saint #nelsonmandela on last legs it seems. Make sure to avoid BBC when the murdering old terrorist croaks. It’ll be nauseating”, he added, “No surprise #Mandela’s lungs are shot – all those burning tyres. Smoking necklaces very bad for the health.”
This comes as South Africa-raised former Labour minister Peter Hain responded on Twitter to Griffinâ„¢s remarks, saying that it was a “nasty vicious attack”.
The BNP chief was also hit with other responses, one stating that his insults against Mandela Å“shows what a small minded odious irrelevant little man he is. Not fit to tie his laces.”
Mandela, who served 27 years of a life sentence in prison, is currently being treated in hospital with a severe lung infection.
