Qalibaf vows to create economic epic

Iranian presidential candidate Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has pledged that his administration will create an economic epic by making use of provincial potentialities and national capacities if he becomes Iran’s next president.

Addressing a gathering of his supporters in the southwestern city of Yasuj on Thursday, the principlist candidate added the main plans and priorities for the first two years of his tenure will be based on resolving daily life problems, curbing inflation and creating job opportunities.

He emphasized that his administration would pay special heed to the development of the deprived areas, particularly rural regions.

Qalibaf will be competing against Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei, President of the Center for Strategic Research of the Expediency Council Hassan Rohani, lawmaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, former Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati, former First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, and former Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Gharazi.
