Press TV viewers slam Iran media ban

Communications satellite services provider Intelsat has suspended services to Iranian TV channels.

Press TV viewers have condemned a recent decision by communications satellite services provider, Intelsat, to suspend services to Iranian news channels.

œIt™s all because Press TV exposes Western powers™ hypocrisy, injustices, atrocities and all other issues that they don™t want the world to know, œ a viewer said.

Another viewer said the decision is because Å“Press TV doesnâ„¢t toe the line. How many times have you said America is great and godâ„¢s chosen country? Anyone who disagrees with the American narrative is wrong at best. They are intentionally blind to the truth.”

Å“The West and its giant pro-Zionist propaganda machine havenâ„¢t been used to being countered on its lies… whatever happens worldwide, if deemed unfortunate to the case of Zionists, it is not mentioned at all..” another comment read.

The European-based company announced the decision on June 19, claiming the measure was taken in recognition of illegal sanctions the United States has declared against the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) – that is the countryâ„¢s national broadcasting corporation.

The decision will especially affect the 24-hour English-language news channel, Press TV.

The suspension of services comes on the heels of a similar decision by Eutelsat and most other satellite operators in taking Iranian TV channels and radio stations off the air in several Western countries including Britain, France, Germany, and Spain.

The Israeli lobby in the United States has openly supported the attempt to silence the voice of Iranian media in Europe.

Media activists call the attacks on Iranian channels a campaign against free speech launched by the same European governments that preach freedom of expression.
