A Palestinian man has been injured in clashes between Israeli forces and dozens of Palestinian protesters in the occupied West Bank.
Clashes broke out between scores of Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers in the town of Kafr Qaddum, located 17 kilometers (10 miles) east of Qalqilya, on Friday.
Israeli troops hurled tear gas canisters at the demonstrators to disperse the crowd.
Ayman Nazzal, a driver for the Palestinian Broadcast Corporation, sustained head injuries after being struck by a tear gas canister. He was rushed to a hospital in the city of Nablus.
Dozens of Palestinians, including a 10-year-old child, suffered from tear gas inhalation.
On May 21, Israeli troops shot and critically injured a 12-year-old Palestinian boy outside the Jelazoun refugee camp near Ramallah.
Palestinian paramedics said Atta Mohammed Sharadeh was hit in the chest and the bullet exited through his back. The boy was transported to a Ramallah hospital.
The Jelazoun refugee camp is close to the Beit El Israeli settlement.
Earlier in the day, clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israeli troops shortly after the occupying forces stormed the refugee camp.
Palestinian youths — angered over the presence of Israeli soldiers at the camp site — threw stones and bottles at the Israeli troops, who responded with live fire.
Palestinian youth and children have been among the most vulnerable victims of the Israeli soldiers’ brutality in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
