Senior Pakistani officials say heavy downpours and flash floods over the past two weeks have claimed the lives of at least 108 people and injured more than one hundred others across Pakistan.
“The rains affected 334,764 people, killed at least 108 people and wounded 104,” media outlets quoted a senior National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) as saying.
The official added that heavy rains has hit 770 villages and completely destroyed 2,427 houses across Pakistan.
Sources say the government has established 44 relief camps in flood-hit areas to accommodate affected people.
Pakistani-administered Kashmir, central Punjab, southwestern Balochistan and southern Sindh provinces are among worst affected areas hit by heavy rains and flash flooding.
Flood warning centers have also forecast heavy downpours for Punjab Province in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the government has been criticized for failing to take more effective measures in the face of such incidents.

Medical teams and aid groups have warned of a growing risk of potentially fatal diseases.
Pakistan regularly suffers from flooding during the monsoon season, which usually runs through July and August. The country suffered the worst floods in its 66-year history in 2010, when floods killed over 1,700 people.
